About Me

I'm a 24 year old Dutch girl who decided to take a gap year at 22 and travel around the world. I already saw and experienced some amazing things. I went to Kenya to work as a counselor with women who are HIV positive and in a childrens home. I also went backpacking for six months through Southeast Asia. The nature, the people, it was really special. And off course the good food! I discovered some beautiful Scandinavian cities with my mom and traveled from LA all the way up to Vancouver, BC. On this trip I couchsurfed for the first time, it was amazing!! I met so many special and cool people.

* Doesn't drink coffee but loves hot chocolate; especially the one from Tim Hortons.
* Eats a lot. Sometimes goes to the gym to compromise that.
* Enjoys a lot of different things, but also enjoys doing nothing.
* Prefer beer over wine.
* Easy going and can deal with every level of comfort

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

All my couchsurf experiences so far have been really good!! It's wonderful to meet new people who are so open minded and let you into their lives as a friend. I learned a lot from my hosts and had a lot of fun with them. I will never stop discovering new cultures.

*NOT IN MAASTRICHT TILL SEPTEMBER*
When my gap year is over and I'm back in Maastricht I want to start hosting travelers as well. This year I have met so many different people from all over the world. I enjoyed listening to their stories and learning about their cultures so much, that it would be a shame to miss on that when I stop traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

My friends say I have a terrible taste in music. But off course I don't agree with them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked as a counselor for women who are HIV+. Those were the strongest and kindest women I have ever met.
Trekking through Myanmar with a local guide. I have met the most beautiful people and saw the sky full of stars with.
Snorkeling with a sea turtle in the Philippines (Best. Day. Ever.)

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn about different cultures and I love people who know random and weird facts.

I will try to teach you some Dutch words. Let's start with Scheveningen, that's the easiest one :p

What I Can Share with Hosts
