About Me

I have been solo traveling for about 3 years on and off, never staying in one country for more than a year. I don't like letting grass grow under my feet!

I moved to Japan after graduating university and taught English for a few months, then backpacked for 6 months, hitchhiking and camping in public parks to make the money stretch! I lived in Costa Rica for ~5 months and learned how to surf - my new favorite sport! I've done workaways in Japan, Costa Rica, and the US, it's my favorite way to travel.

I'm a lifelong learner, so I really value experiences over material things, and the only thing better than solo experiences is getting to experience things with another person and growing a connection :)

I've just started couchsurfing using the app, but I've been couch surfing since way back :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I usually do workaways and farmstays while i travel, and I always have amazing experiences meeting locals and living in non-touristy areas. I love meeting new people and learning from them, and the community aspect at workaways always encourages this. I want to try couch surfing because it's a way to visit places short-term and have a similar experience!

Interests

I am always trying to learn new skills, and i love being active, so I like trying new sports and outdoors activities! I especially love being in nature, so backpacking and overnight hikes are some of my favorite ways to experience nature and disconnect from the world!

I also love doing farmstays when I travel, and so far I've worked with dairy cows, chickens, bunnies, alpacas, horses, goats, and even a wild boar!

Music, Movies, and Books

Rock music! I love so many bands i can't even start to list them!
Science Fiction and Fantasy books and movies! My favorite authors are Pierce Brown and Patrick Rothfuss

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked Japan on the cheap! Hitchhiked, camped, and trekked my way around! I'd love to share stories and photos :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love languages, I'm conversational in Japanese and Spanish, and I'm just starting to learn Hungarian. I want to learn as many languages as possible! I would love to teach you and learn from you :)

I also love to learn about the culture of the places I visit, so having authentic food, experiences, and meeting local people is very valuable to me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am super flexible and easy-going! I'm happy to help with any house projects you may have and try to lend a hand, I know a bit about how to fix things! I am happy to accommodate you: if you are looking for someone to hike with or share a meal with, I'm there! If you'd rather I be independent while you work/attend school, I'll go explore on my own. I unusually wake up by 9 (i can be up earlier though) and spend the whole day out of my accommodation.

I'm working remotely right now , so I'll spend most weekdays in a café on my laptop.
