About Me

Young professional traveling the world on a budget. I love learning and discovering new places, usually on my own or with close friends. Currently living in Philadelphia, but in the next few years hoping to relocate to Prague. In the meantime, making works of theatre, writing books, and getting by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The simplest reason is that I'm hoping to save on travel costs. The bigger reason is that I prefer a deeper experience of the places I travel to-- learning from locals about the history and culture, seeing firsthand the way people live, and getting the best information about where to go, and when, and why. And of course, I hope to make new friends, everywhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Neutral Milk Hotel and Spoon, the Beatles, Squeeze, 80s New Wave, folk and indie rock, anything arranged by Benjamin Britten, punk, jazz standards

Movies: Cocteau's Orphee, Amelie, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Motorcycle Diaries, 8 1/2... among many others. Most recently, Birdman was off the hook.

Books: Too Loud a Solitude, Watership Down, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (and anything else by Joyce), Hermann Hesse, Goethe, Middlesex

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote and produced a large-scale, interactive, site-specific theatre performance in the Philly Fringe Festival in 2012. It was called MONUMENT and it explored mankind's relationship to the things we make, especially in the face of our imminent mortality. I took myself way too seriously while writing it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Say yes to cities. Take the opportunities they give you. Follow the leads they reveal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an easygoing guest and I'm up for just about anything. I have a lot of good stories and a lot of weird stories. I can cook and bake (my baked goods are renowned).
