About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to enjoy what the world already is, while also working to co-create changes
ABOUT ME
I've been a geoduck farmer, coordinator of a prison book project, a chef, a barista, a bargaining unit rep and shop steward in my union, a long-distance hiker, an activist, a student, a wanna-be novice woodworker. for this next part of life i'd like to hunker down and focus on graduate work in community psychology / liberation psychology. my upcoming trip (for which I've started a couchsurfer.com profile) is about checking out a grad school i've been interested in, bicycling to and fro, seeing friends here and there, checking out occupy wallstreet protests in various cities, and eventually ending up in LA for a work training. a series of miniature adventures before returning home to Olympia to start a new job.
PHILOSOPHY
i guess this sums it up:
"It seems to me that if you or I must choose between two courses of thought or action, we should remember our dying and try so to live that our death brings no pleasure to the world."
-East of Eden by John Steinbeck.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i've had marvelous experiences with hosts so far, and it makes me excited to host others in the future. currently my home is very very (very) tiny!...barely big enough for one person to turn around in. so at this point i'm just looking forward to experiences being hosted. i'm guaranteed to be a clean, tidy, quiet and respectful houseguest. please let me know what questions you have about me...i'd be happy to answer them.
Interests
rowing on a crew team, bicycling (new to it), scrabble, ruminating, walking long distances, sleeping, planning, metaphor-crafting, making noodle soup, laughing, pep talks, giving people the benefit of the doubt...
