About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Forget being a tourist--I want to get to know places through the people who live there!
ABOUT ME
I am an intern learning about ESL teaching and international ministry. I love to travel and meet people and have been blessed with many opportunities to do so.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is a journey of learning and growing. This should be happening constantly and be often accompanied with laughter.
For me, I can't do this well or joyfully without being in relationship with my creator. He gives me purpose and defines who I am.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I don't have a couch to offer but I am looking to participate as a surfer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Most of my couchsurfing experiences so far have been simply amazing (albeit all in Western Europe). I never knew how much of a difference it would make in the way that I experienced the city. I'm coming to find out that, while hotels are distancing, homes are inviting and really the only true way to discover a place.
Interests
I absolutely love to cook--it's probably my strongest hobby. But I also like writing and reading (when I have the time). Cultures are a passion of mine and discussing culture or life with people from different cultures is a blast. I'm quite fond of walking in nature as well--something about the greenery and fresh air just makes me happy. Drama is really fun for me (acting, directing, writing) and I love public speaking.

Music, Movies, and Books
I typically don't have time to watch movies but I typically like lighthearted ones such as the Princess Bride or Clue. I can appreciate a good round of wit. As for music, I'm fond recently of a really strange mixture of old and really new Christian tunes as well as Celtic music. Books, unfortunately, have taken a backseat in my busy life but I've been making time for reading some good ol' Asterix and Tintin to help me improve my French!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Looking back at my travels so far I'm mostly struck by the good fortune I've had to have been invited into so many homes for a dinner. It may not seem incredible, but getting a glimpse into another culture over an authentic dinner is my definition of amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach American cooking (like how to make a S'more or a great batch of Southern biscuits).
I would love to learn how you like to cook or go about daily life.
