About Me

I am a student in my 3rd year of University at Monash currently undertaking a semester abroad in Beijing, China.

I am studying a Business degree but have little idea what field I wish to work in in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have heard from both family and friends that couch surfing has benefited them in so many ways. My father is both a couch surfing host and traveller and I have been lucky enough so meet people from many different countries through their stay with him.

I believe that staying with locals gives people the chance to have a more authentic experience than simply staying at hostels/hotels in the tourist areas & allows you to meet people you never would've crossed paths with otherwise.

I think that couch surfing is the perfect way to meet people whilst travelling and is such a great give/take approach to travel.

Interests

I am a very active person and play many social sports, mainly netball. I have worked in hospitality for a number of years throughout school and uni and as a result have developed a passion for good food and drink.

I love to travel whenever I have the opportunity and have been to South East Asia twice to partake in volunteer work & deferred Uni for a semester to travel around Europe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taken the opportunity to come to China on exchange despite being terrified by the vastly different cultures and my inability to speak the language at all. This experience has been one of the most challenging in my life so far but also one of the most rewarding and has inspired me to continue to travel when the semester ends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a very easy going and friendly person who would love the opportunity to get to know my hosts. I have a keen passion for food and would love to be able to thank my host for opening their home to me by cooking a meal for us to share.
