Hi there I’m Lauren, a first-time solo traveler from California! I am completely new to couchsurfing but have heard nothing but good things from friends and am eager to try it out myself and join what sounds like an amazing community! I am a very easy-going person, clean, and respectful of others’ space. I enjoy everything from sightseeing to hiking to chatting over a good beer or coffee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the idea is really cool. Throughout my travels I have noticed that I prefer letting local friends I make show me around rather than check things off the top 10 tourist destinations list. I hope that couchsurfing will help me avoid these tourist traps and instead find those hidden gems!

Interests

I like swimming, hanging out with friends, meeting new people, coffee, traveling & sightseeing - especially discovering hidden gems that might only be know by a local

Music, Movies, and Books

My go to music genre is indie/alternative but I enjoy listening to all different kinds of music. I hate being the one to pick the music. I’d much rather have the opportunity to be exposed to someone else’s music and perhaps find a new song or genre that I wouldn’t have otherwise found.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My lease ended so I quit my job, packed my bags, and left the U.S. to see Europe for the first time starting with a volunteer position at a hostel in a country I knew nothing about, Albania!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can exchange some of my culture, help with practicing English, and give plenty of tips on things to do in California/the western part of the U.S. and other places I’ve travelled to.
