About Me

I'm a 24 year old Australian from Perth, travelling Europe for about eight months with my German boyfriend Marcel.

I am a cheerful and friendly. I enjoy exchanging opinions, in a good-natured way, of course, but also just mainly chilling and talking about anything from food to the meaning of life.

Like most backpackers I'm bored easily so I'm pretty active and I'm always out and about trying new things. My favourite vehicle is my feet and if you're up for a walk, whether around town or through a rainforest, I'm keen. I provide pretty sparkling conversation as well, of course.

I've never seen snow and I'm absolutely jumping out of my skin to build a snowman.

***UPDATE*** I have now seen snow, made a snow angel, thrown snowballs, sledded and caught a snowflake on my tongue. Snow is magical. But I still haven't made a snowman.

In my normal life back home, I'm studying a Bachelor of Nursing and I have further plans to study to become a midwife.

In my down time I can be found in hammocks or on a couch reading, mostly historical fiction and binge-watching TV series. I like a few drinks, as an Aussie of course my drink of choice is the finest goon, and whatever cider is on sale. Nice. My day isn't complete unless I've patted at least one dog.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has allowed me to meet locals, actually get below the surface of a city/town, to live it for even a little bit. So all in all, while hostelling and sleeping in cars is great fun, travel to me means that I learn something that broadens my mind every day and only with locals can you do that :)

Interests

Travelling (of course), baking cakes, patting dogs, hiking, exploring and drinking wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like indie-rock mainly. I listen to a lot of Australian music so I'm always happy to share some of my country's music!

I'll watch pretty much any movie; my favourites would be 'Back to the Future' and 'Dead Poets Society'

I love to read, and I'd have to say my favourite book is 'The Pillars of the Earth' by Ken Follett. I love the Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire books, and so many more. I'm reading some German childrens' books as well- mein Lieblingsbuch ist 'Struwwelpeter'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked the Camino de Santiago, a 760km hike all across Spain from east to west :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Australian slang

I can share useless trivia and point out every single dog wherever we are

I'd like to learn about the cultures of other countries, and more German

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make a pretty decent pesto and have mad vacuuming skills.

If you have a dog, I will pat it all night.
