I am a student of life, learning to live the questions and step through open doors, and knock at closed ones. My soul is at least partly made of deciduous trees and the creek I grew up playing in in middle TN. Community and connection are immensely important to me. I am an artist and a listener, a lover silence and of conversation, and in general I live in a state of curiosity. There is not much that I find more grounding than getting my hands in the dirt and sharing a meaningful conversation. My main goal is to live as much of my life barefoot as possible--literally, yes, but also metaphorically, with my soles bared to the world and treading lightly while grounding deep.

Ah and I suppose I could note that I am 24 years old, living in Knoxville TN, teaching art to middle school students. I love to travel, but I am learning about how my mode of travel ideally includes minimal environmental impact, connection to people, and engagement with nature, otherwise I tend to feel claustrophobic and disconnected. I rode my bicycle across the country in 2021 :)

I think the premise is beautiful. By being able to stay somewhere for free opens up so many opportunities for the possibility of making a personal connection and feeling more of the spirit of a place when immeshed in the rhythm of the home of a host, rather than a hotel or even hostel.

I would love to be a host sometime in the future, but at the moment I live in a house with several other people, so it is not an option. But I so look forward to being able to facilitate experiences for others too.

I am always open to ideas and thoughts of others, and we have more to learn from each other than we could ever conceive of. I personally have interests in the study of religion (no one in particular, just religions in general), art, community, sustainability, gardening, cooking, poetry, and much else. So any of these things I will gladly share my thoughts on and would love to learn more about as well. But I am open to learning most anything, especially about plants, building things, or identifying natural species.
