Hi :) my name is Lauren Forbes, I am 24 years old and live in the UK in a village in West Yorkshire (near Manchester and Leeds) I was working as a babywear designer before leaving the UK and heading to Southeast Asia to travel for 3 months with my boyfriend called Alan who is 26 and also from the UK.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From March 27th 2016-April 27th 2016 we will be in Australia and are looking to maybe do some couch surfing and meet some great people if possible. Our plan so far is to make our way up the East coast, starting in Sydney and ending in Cairns. We were introduced to couch surfing by a friend in the Philippines and love the entire concept of meeting new people and learning about places through the eyes of someone that lives there. When back in the UK we hope to maybe host couchsurfing as a way to give back to the couchsurfing community. We're finding it really hard to get into this whole couch surfing thing, maybe because we have no references or because we're a couple. It's not just about the accommodation for us, we really want to experience Australia through the people of Australia, to see how you guys live and what you get up to. One thing we really want to do is have a proper Aussie BBQ experience so if you are unable to host maybe you and your friends could join us for a BBQ?

Interests

I love fashion, art and being creative. I have a background in textiles and fashion. Alan loves rugby and we both enjoy all sports and outdoor activities. We obviously both love to travel and meet new people. We also enjoy music and going to gigs/festivals.
