Overview
About Me
I am studying English (language, literature, and grammar) with a Spanish minor. I'm still not entirely sure what I want to do with my education yet other than expand it and keep expanding it. At the moment, my plan is to work for Lutheran Bible Translators for a year or two and if I (likely) come home broke I will work as an editor until I have enough money to go back to school to eventually (when I'm old) become a professor of literature. If only I were not allergic to cats, I would make the perfect crazy cat lady.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am studying abroad in Spain this semester and to save money on flights and experiencing Europe, I chose to couchsurf, as well as the obvious draw to meet new people, learn their stories, share mine, and hopefully teach my host something as I learn from them.
Interests
I love stories! and I love how many ways there are to tell a story: poetry, prose, music, movies, theater, oral storytelling, art, dance.
Apart from family, faith, and friends, which I believe are vital, my loves/interests are literature, music, and movies, as is obvious by the "my favorite movies" section.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all sorts of music ranging from classic rock, to jazz, to opera, movie soundtracks, symphonies, cello sonatas, indie rock, acoustic rock, Disney soundtracks, and 90s rock/pop/alternative... I think that's about it.
As far as movies go... there are just too many to choose. I like most of the classic series starting with Lord of the Rings and Star Wars (of course), also Indiana Jones (with the exception of the latest one), Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter. I really enjoy war stories before the invention of guns (Kingdom of Heaven, Arn: the Knight Templar, Centurion), superhero movies (the X Men series, Christopher Nolan's Batman series, and Superman Returns), V for Vendetta, The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... I could talk about movies all day.
Favorite books: I really enjoy young adult literature (Harry Potter, The Series of Unfortunate Events, and the Percy Jackson books) as well as adult literature (Shakespeare, Dante, Milton, JRR Tolkien). The list goes ever on...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have to admit, I've done some pretty cool things in the past few years including a mission trip to Haiti and a summer job in Grand Teton National Park. I think the coolest thing I've done so far is study abroad in Spain. I came here almost 4 weeks ago and I know I still have a lot more to do, to see, and to learn. I'm excited to see what God has in store for me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach to anyone who wants to learn. I can teach you about music, how to play the piano, flute or how to sing, or about different film composers. I can teach you about literature and different themes and symbols within. I can teach you about movies, which directors are the best, what makes a good movie. I can teach you about me, what I've learned, how I've grown, who I want to be.
I love to learn about this world I am a part of, anything and everything I can.
I would love to share my stories, knowledge, ears, voice.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Other than my interminable well of knowledge which occasionally needs to be restocked, I offer my services as the perfect guest. I am never too loud, I'm chill about most everything, and I clean up after myself.
