Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm working on a project where I visit iconic festivals worldwide for a year. I call it A Year of Festivals (#yearoffestivals2016). Every month I will go to a festival that I've preselected. I expect to go to at least 9 countries this year! Couchsurfing will help me be able to afford to see each country, make new friends, and ultimately experience the festival.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music artists are Alina Baraz, Khelani, Jhene Aiko, Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill and Whitney Houston (to name a few). One really good book that I've enjoyed lately is The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Neffenegger.

I can teach you (women) a few makeup and hair styling tricks, how to do a head stand if you've ever dreamed of this, and maybe how to make a few American food dishes.

I'd love to learn everything about the culture of the country that I'm visiting. Traditional style of dress, typical food dishes to taste, and where to go to get an authentic experience.
