About Me

Hi! My name is Lauren. I worked in collegiate athletics for 12 years and recently left my job to shake things up and find some new adventures!

I am new to the Couchsurfing community, and, while a little nervous about it, I am looking forward to meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and experiencing new things.

I am a clean and organized person who loves to talk and share stories but can appreciate the silence as well.

I am still working out the details, but I just bought a one-way ticket to London for March. My plan is to explore parts of Europe I haven't yet been to and make my way towards Asia. I am big into sustainability, so I am hoping to do this trip in as few flights as possible as well as volunteering as I explore, helping communities around the world in whatever way I might be able to contribute.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My goal is to travel to as many new places as I can. I want to connect with local people in the places I am visiting to meet new people and learn more about the places and the local culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Besides quitting my decade-long career to travel the world? Haha. I got to hike a glacier in Iceland which was pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I worked in sustainability for a decade, specifically focused on zero waste practices. It's also a personal passion of mine. I love to "talk trash" with anyone who wants to share ideas about how to live a waste-free life!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be happy to clean, cook, or otherwise contribute to the household while I am being hosted.
