About Me

My name is Lauren Lynch, I am currently an English teacher in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China at a middle school. I graduated from Villanova University this past May and immediately moved to China. I have a keen interest in art and creation, after this year I will continue my art education and career. I love to travel and have traveled quite a bit, but am aching to explore more! I can offer great conversation on art, food, and anything in between--look forward to getting to know you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just found out about it and decided to give it a try! I want to make friends all around the world, so I can possibly extend my couch to them one day!

Music, Movies, and Books

I adore historical fiction movies like Anna Karenina and Marie Antoinette. Oddly enough to contrast my film preferences, I am a sucker for Family Guy and scheme-y shows like Gossip Girl; my true love, however, lies in reading, and I really enjoy all Paulo Coelho's novels (The Alchemist especially) and American and British classics--you know the ones you were prompted to read in high school but never did, yeah, those bad boys.

I think music makes life much more enjoyable. I listen to a bit of everything, my favorites genres being: 80's pop/rock (Hong Kong Garden Siouxsie and the Banshees), Classical, Deep House, and some nice throwbacks (Frank Sinatra, The Beach Boys, The Archies).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Move to China alone with no knowledge of Chinese language or culture directly after graduating from university.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn as much as I can about history and language, I can teach people what it means to appreciate aesthetic, and I would love to share a drink or two with you.
