About Me

I'm currently close to defending my Masters thesis in Biology (graduate December 2016). I am taking a few months off to travel before I start a PhD program in the fall (2017). Currently I do research on the thermal physiology of reptiles to predict how tropical lizards will fare in the face of global climate change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to really experience the cultures associated with the places I am traveling. I am excited to hangout and meet interesting locals while traveling. I'm hoping that through couch surfing I will get to more fully experience the culture of the places I am traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Andrew Bird, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Shins, Talking Heads, Borns, The Strokes, Yann Tiersen. I like a lot of music! There are surely loads of musicians I'm forgetting.

Books- most popular science books, Richard Dawkins, Jared Diamond, etc. Also into historical fiction.

Movies- I love all Wes Anderson movies, also Amelie and Love Actually are a few of my favorites... Don't really watch too many movies though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydived 2x. This question kind of stinks... How can you sum up your life's progress by stating one accomplishment??

Teach, Learn, Share

I currently teach environmental biology labs at a university in southeast Georgia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing bits of my culture with the people I meet, and in exchange learning more about foreign cultures. I enjoy relaxing and hanging out with friends. I am a very easy going person, so I would never add any stress to a host's house. Furthermore I'd always be down to take my CS host out for a beer after a day spent exploring!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, England, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Netherlands, Panama, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
