About Me

My name is Lauren, I am a student at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
I am a down to earth, fun, caring and curios person that enjoys traveling with family and friends. I love trying new things, meeting new people, and going on adventures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have never done couch surfing, I found out about this through a friend who did this in Zurich, Switzerland. She said it was completely safe and super cool at the same time. Because the person she stayed with actually showed her around and are friends to this day. I thought it was a great and economical idea for me to do, because its a way for me to meet new people who could potentially show me and other people around. I am a very open minded person, and I like to try new things, I am excited about this, so I hope I can potentially have someone host me into their home. It would be very kind and generous!

Interests

Some of my interests are traveling, meeting new people, being active, reading, laughing, eating, playing the violin, signing, enjoying life with friends/family, and living life passionately. By that I mean being grateful for it and everything it has brought me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I honestly love all types of music, except for heavy metal rock. I honestly don't understand how people can listen to music that you can't understand.
Some of my favorite movies are train wreck, all disney movies haha, gladiator, a beautiful mind, and more!
Books- honestly I have such a long list. But some of my favorites are Outliers, The Tipping Point, Gold, Little Bee, and I am Malala.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing that I have done, which was also very life changing was when I was living in Ecuador, where I taught a lot of the kids from the community I lived in (El Carmen) about hygiene and about protecting/conserving our environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think its a wonderful thing to spread knowledge everywhere you go. To learn from the people and places around you, and to share that knowledge as well. I have always liked hearing stories of people doing amazing things, because it really inspires me to keep discovering more of the world I live in. There is so much for to life than most people can imagine, and it excites me to know that I am here along with millions of others who can do that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences with hosts, and I can share my gratitude for letting them open up their home to me. I am a very friendly person, and I like making new encounters anywhere I go, because you never know who you will meet and or what can happen. So I believe its best for someone to always be themselves and be kind to others.
