Hello! My name is Lauren. I'm a professional musician. I teach and perform as a singer, violinist, and pianist. I am also a composer, and I've written for a variety of ensembles (chamber, orchestra, voice, piano, string quartet, etc.). I also love to paint and draw.

After I graduated with a Music Education degree, I spent a couple of years touring with Tajci all over the country. I homeschooled her children on the road by day and helped with concert production, performance, and sales by night. I absolutely LOVED all of the hosts we stayed with. I loved how they shared their little piece of the world with us, and I love the stories and experiences we shared.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said, one of my favorite things about touring were the hosts we stayed with and the friends we made across the country. I hope to be able to keep meeting interesting people in my future professional and personal travels. I would also love to start hosting in the next couple of years once I'm settled and have a place of my own again!

Interests

Music: Classical, musical theater, folk, bluegrass, some mainstream pop and country. I love a great show, whether it's a professional opera or ballet, a touring Broadway production, or an awesome Melissa Etheridge or Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert.

Art: I love to paint and draw and create art with others. I also love to visit museums.

Dancing: East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Salsa, and Cha cha. I dance socially. It's a lot of fun and I've made great friends!
