Overview
About Me
Hey there,
I'm Cali born and world traveled. I am fairly fluent in Spanish, which I studied in uni along with journalism. I've done a great deal of horticultural/permaculture work along with freelance writing/editing. Not to mention hospo work, being a cook on a ganja farm and in the Outback. Pretty much I've done what I've needed to in order to keep traveling. It's been challenging for sure but so damn rewarding. The last few months I have been living in Northern California, which I love, but I'm stoked to get out of my fish bowl for a bit and meet some rad people, sip drinks, share meals and stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This next trip takes me to Mexico and I'd love someone to give me a glimpse of DF before I travel more extensively around the country.
Surprisingly this is the first time I've used the site, so I'd like to give it a go and hopefully use it as a great source for the future.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books- Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Murakami, Steinbeck, Hemingway, John Irving and so many more.
Music- so many! I love old blues like Mississippi John Hurt, but love garage/surf bands like Fidlar. Mac deMarco, classical like Satie, Lydia Mendoza....it's a pretty eclectic category.
Movies- I do love artsy classics like Goddard and Bunuel, but also love indie rom-coms and anything Tina Fey wrote.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Narrow it down to one thing?! The first thing that pops up in my mind was my trip to Indonesia-from pigeon races, rice wine and karaoke at night, surfing my ass off and so much mie goreng. It's hard to pinpoint one thing-I believe it's usually in conversation that so many amazing things come rushing back to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I definitely need to brush up on my Spanish! Living in Asia, Australia and NZ didn't give me too many chances to practice lol. However, I think I would be able to help out with some English . I've noticed that languages come much easier when you can play off of one another's skill set. And a drink or two don't hurt either ;)
Also, as I will be going straight to DF from TJ, after SoCal, maybe there is a little something special I could bring along that you might not have at home.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Mostly help with language, bizarre/wild stories, a keen interest to see the sites, and I'm not a bad cook either.
