Hi! I'm Lauren-- I love animals, children, and kind humans. I'm passionate about many different things and enjoy having long conversations and getting to know new people. Kindness, nonviolence, education, justice and equality inspire me and are qualities I think we should all try to uphold to make this world a better and more loving place.

Right now the main focuses in my life are my education, working as a teacher at an afterschool program, being involved in the vegan advocacy group at my university, and spending time with my family and friends. Included in my family is my dog baby named Chico :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and I think the best way to do it is by meeting(and staying) with locals and getting to know them! I want to be a traveler rather than a tourist. I'm mainly interested in traveling to Spanish-speaking countries so staying with locals who are Spanish speakers would help me a lot, and I could help them with their English too if they'd like!

I love folk, indie, and rock music. Some of my fav artists are Tigers in the Sky, Sufjan Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, Iron and Wine, Jesse y Joy, and Lauren Daigle.

Books: The Harry Potter series(!!), A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Alchemist, and The Help.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a summer in southern Mexico volunteering at a children's home with some of the coolest and sweet kids I've ever met. I loved being immersed in Spanish, the rich Oaxaxan culture and exploring so many new places.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Spanish/English, info about veganism and vegan cooking, creative writing and ukulele lessons :) I enjoy learning about other cultures, places, languages and people, different viewpoints, social justice, ways to help the environment, etc. I love talking to new people and am very curious.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my happy personality, laughter, yummy vegan food, a listening ear, Spanish/English/writing knowledge, and can help with cleaning/cooking/whatever else is needed if you decide to host me!
