About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to make everyone feel as though they have value in this world.

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going, adventurous, nerdy, and silly girl who just loves getting to know people. I believe everyone has a story worth telling. If you tell me I will gladly listen!

I graduated from Purdue University in May with a Bachelors Degree in Food Science and plan to move to Seattle in the beginning of August to start a new beginning in my life.

PHILOSOPHY

Love unconditionally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first experience couchsurfing. My friends at Purdue spoke very highly about their experiences and I've always wanted to try it and get to know people from all over.

Interests

I love to cook! As implied by my degree, I love trying to create new combinations of flavors and textures using different techniques. My favorite way to show people I love them is to have them relax and cook a comforting meal for them! I'm also super nerdy in that I love collecting comic books and playing video games. Lastly, I do enjoy playing guitar from time to time. My skills are very limited but it still doesn't prevent me from trying to learn a good song from time to time. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love comic books! Mostly Marvel with a few exceptions. I love all types of music except for rap and country. Aside from that, I'm happy to listen to anything from classical, to techno. As for books, lately I've been interested in a lot of non fiction. I like to learn about other peoples lives and what experiences made them into who they are.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For the past three years, I've gone on a week long bike trip with approximately 20 or so of my good friends. Each year we pick a state or area of the country to bike across and raise money for each mile we ride. In the past, we've raised money to buy bikes for college students at Africa University. We've also raised money for Habitat for Humanity. So far, I've biked across Michigan, Indiana, most of Mississippi and part of Tennessee. These trips have not only taught me a lot about myself but also how to live well in a community. Every trip was full of love, support, and encouragement. Some days were very difficult and extremely exhausting, while others were exhilarating, and carefree. Regardless of what kind of day it was, we completed each day together as a family.

My second favorite experience(s) has been hiking up Mt. Rainier. Something about the sheer grandness of that mountain always leaves me breathless. I've seen this mountain three times. Twice in the summer and once in the winter. Each time was a beautiful experience that I will never forget. Maybe the reason I love it so much is because that is the first real mountain I had seen in person. I'd like to think it's something more. There's something about that mountain that is very special to me. I cannot wait to see it again.
