About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel, make friends, enjoy life
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in the beautiful SF bay area. I am currently at a point in my life where I have the freedom to travel, so I am doing my best to take advantage of this great opportunity. I am friendly (of course), funny (love a good pun), and polite (thanks mom!). I carry a book with me wherever I go. I get along well with most people, and I try my best to see the good in everything. I would rather have others think I am weird as opposed to boring.
PHILOSOPHY
I am trying to have as many new experiences as possible and to enjoy my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was fortunate to stay with a wonderful host for my first CS experience, and I hope to be able to do the same for others.
Interests
I read. A lot. I try to take good photos, with occasional success. I am a beer nerd and ocassional homebrewer. I spend most nights at the climbing gym and many afternoons on my bike. Good discussion and debates excite me, even if I know nothing about the topic at hand; I love talking to people who are passionate about their interests.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch too many movies these days, but I always have time for a good documentary or a Miyazaki movie.
I am currently reading any book by J.M. Coetzee that I can get my hands on.
I listen to all genres of music. Recently, the most memorable live shows have involved bluegrass.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Angkor Wat. The most amazing thing I have ever seen. I am still searching for the right words to describe it, because "amazing" falls pathetically short. Photos do it no justice. You just have to go and see it for yourself.
2. The California coast. There's a reason it's called the best coast. I could spend hours hiking along the beach and staring at tide pools...I love being out in nature, and the ocean has always seemed mysterious and alluring.
3. Yosemite National Park. I recently went on a 9 day climbing trip that blew my mind. I stood on top of many mountain peaks and took in the glory of nature. It was a physical challenge and a spiritual journey.
Teach, Learn, Share
I knit. I know how to work a camera, both digital and film. I LOVE beer and whiskey and know much about both. I am an okay cook. I always offer to teach people organic chemistry, but for some reason they never take me up on it...
