About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet new people. Share new ideas. Become a new person. Change the world.

ABOUT ME

I appreciate where I have been, I love where I am at, and I am eager for the future.
I live and work in Chicago at an incredible local nonprofit. A little over a year ago, I graduated Loyola University in Chicago, where I studied International Studies, Communication Studies and Peace Studies. While in my undergrad, I studied in Since January I have been studying in Prague, which is what pushed me to originally join Couchsurfing. After returning, I got a little busy with things like graduating and finding a job, but now that I'm done with both of those things and settled, I'm eager to get back out there!

Going to Europe this semester was my first time leaving the United States, and always doing things to the extreme, I choose to go for 4 months. It is hands down the best decision I have ever made.

Just kind of an overview of my personality. I love to laugh and smile, and I like to think I'm pretty funny ( I mean... I laugh at my jokes). I like to make people happy and I love giving out compliments. I am constantly looking for new challenges and experiences, and feel I am very lucky for all of my friends and family who have gotten me to where I am in life.

This is requiring a lot of introspection on my part! I feel like that's a lot for now! Maybe you can tell me what to add after we meet!

PHILOSOPHY

I'll never be as young as I am today.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My job requires me to work a lot of weekends, and I've started traveling a little more so my availability is a wonky, but I'd love to host when I can! Although, if I'm not able to host, but I'm still in the city I would love to meet up and show people around the city! (I've been here almost 6 years now, so hopefully I can think of a couple cool things to check out!)

**Also important to note: if I am able to host, I have dog. She's incredibly friendly and loves people so she will want to be your best friend. Being a dog lover is a must!**

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, but I'm excited to try it out! Many of my friends have had amazing experiences and I want to join in on fun!

Interests

My biggest hobby/past time is running. I've run five marathons and completed one triathlon. Hoping to do a lot more this summer!

I love going on brewery tours in Chicago (and would love to go with people to them!).

I just started rock climbing. I'm terrible at it, but there's no where to go but up (get it?).

I also love traveling (as does everyone on here). Making more of an effort this year to explore and travel!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love strong female artist such as Florence and the Machine, Marina and the Diamonds, Sia, and... well I could go on for awhile. I also am a sucker for the voices of Adam Levine from Maroon 5, Brandon Flowers, Greg Laswell. I also love Sufjan Stevens and Andrew Byrd.
I'm currently reading a lot of Kurt Vonnegut. Also I am making a better effort at rereading and enjoying the books currently on my bookshelf. They're books I collected in college for class or from friends and I feel like I read them with a set objective in mind (test, paper, etc.) and I couldn't fully enjoy them. I want to fix that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finishing my first marathon in Chicago in 4 hours 15 minutes

Teach, Learn, Share

Never let things grow boring. The moment you don't appreciate the people around you or the places you're at, it's time to change your routine. The world is a beautiful and magical place, you just have to keep challenging yourself to see it differently.
