ABOUT ME
What can we say... Ian was raised in the mountains and Lauren, on the prairies. They met in Creative Performance Studies at theatre school in Toronto, and have barely left each other's side since. For the past three years, Lauren has been travelling the world with a dance company while Ian stays behind in Montreal and tries to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. He keeps trying to break into the dance scene, too, but Lauren sabotages his chances every time.
We love food from all over the world. We haven't tried everything yet, but our favourites so far are Indian, El Salvadorian, Thai and of course Ukrainian (that's Lauren's background).
Ian plays a bunch of instruments, and Lauren is becoming more crafty by the day (she makes all of their Christmas gifts and decorations from scratch each year). Ask her about knitting, sewing, baking, glass etching, ceramic painting, etc. and she'll be all too eager to show you her vast collection of supplies (so you probably shouldn't ask). Ian can't make anything, and teases her about being too Martha Stewart-y. She takes it really hard.
What's our basic life philosophy, you ask? Feel your emotions in your gut, and tell it like it is. Lauren's not a big fan of passive aggression, and Ian thinks that's fine (he guesses).
PHILOSOPHY
So, to expand what we've already started - we're not big social networking people, so this is a learning experience for us (meaning: we don't have Facebook, Twitter, iPhones, Cable, Internet, Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, Blue.. Berry?).
Rather, we're into self-sustainability (gardening, composting, canning, making own clothes, charades, card games, hopscotch).
Basically, we are basic.

Teach? how to live simply (we're not experts on this either, but we think about it a lot), art & culture, maybe a few knitting tips, ian will gladly show you his dance moves (if lauren's not around).
Learn? we love to learn about other cultures, including language & traditional dishes (always)! everyone who we meet lends something, and we can't get enough.
