About Me

I'm a laid back, easy going, free-spirited, outgoing introvert that follows her heart. I am a recent college graduate looking to explore the world. My family and I have hosted four exchange students over the last couple of years. I also participated in international outreach programs with my university. I'm making my way over to Europe this summer to visit some family, and my friends.
I am not looking to go out get wasted and party every night. I am simply looking to discover all the historical aspects of the cities that I will be visiting, see some old friends, and hopefully make some new ones.

Some background:
I was born in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania and shortly after I was born my parents moved to North Carolina. I have lived here ever since. We live just outside the capital city of Raleigh. I attended university up in western North Carolina in the Mountains, at AppState.
I have two younger sisters, 11 and 13. They mean the world to me. My family has a schnauzer dog named Harley, after Harley Davidson Motorcycles. I rescued a sweet little Yorkie, and named her Stella Luna, yes after the children's book Stellaluna.

I've been lucky enough to visit 38/50 States, and I'm hoping to hit them all one day.

I believe true happiness can be found in the mountains, and in a good cup of coffee.

NOTICE: If you are hosting for any other reason than the sole purpose of being genuinely interested in helping someone out and a making a new friend, please decline my request to stay with you. I am not traveling to sleep/(hook up) my way through your country. This website is not a dating service, so don't treat it as such.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people and travel on a budget, couchsurfing helps me to do both. I want to see the city as a local would. I want to find the hole in the wall places with the best food, and the best company. I don't want to just visit a city, I want to live in, experience the local culture, and everything it has to offer. I want to meet hosts that come from all different backgrounds, that have great travel stories, and that are compassionate for other travelers alike.

I haven't had the chance to host a couch surfer yet. The towns I've lived in are small, and not very close to any major cities. My family and I have hosted 4 exchange students over the last few years(3 for 6 months and 1 for a year). Two of the students were from Germany (Bremen and Klön) and two were from Italy (Turino and Rome). Sharing my home with them, getting to know them during the time they were in my home, really did turn them into family.
While I wont be staying this long with my hosts on couchsurfing, I am hoping to make some new friends, and gain some new perspectives throughout my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Led Zeppelin is my first love, The Rolling Stones are my second, and Pink Floyd speaks to my soul. I had too much to Dream by the Electric Prunes is my favorite song. I am a firm believer that David Bowie brings people together.
Classic rock, and anything of the rock persuasion. Indie/Alternative rock, and Reggae. Jazz and Bluegrass in the winter months. I absolutely love to cook to Cuban music, occasionally an Italian opera song. Romantic classical piano when I'm feeling really mellow.

Movies/TV: Das Wilde Leben (8 miles high), Into the Wild and Avatar are probably my favorite movies. I love cheesy, terrible romance comedy movies. Action movies such as Crank are awesome and I love James Bond movies! Amelie & Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind. Any of the Marvel Movies...especially Ant Man and Deadpool. Horrible Bosses and Step Brothers! The Bucket List. The National Lampoon's Animal House. Stand Up comedy like Bill Burr and Jim Jeffries. I love The Office & Parks and Rec.

Books: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Siddhartha, Harry Potter series, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Ellen Hopkins books. I love romantic poets. I wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wadsworth is probably my favorite, along with The Chambered Nautilus.
