About Me
CURRENT MISSION
After living and travelling in China for two years it's time to head back to the UK. Starting in Beijing, I'll be travelling overland through Central Asia and Europe hoping to land in England before Christmas 2015.
ABOUT ME
I'm 22 years old and I am from England. I like interesting conversation, exploring, and new experience - learning languages and skills, physical and mental.
I have been working as an English teacher in China as a way of experiencing this super country and culture.
PHILOSOPHY
The world is in motion, to remain in one place is to defy the natural movement of the universe. To learn, be it through experience, conversation or study, is the ultimate goal of my life. Ideas are the fuel which powers human history and existence. Let's share some.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people inspires new adventures, I want to hear people's stories and learn about new ideas, opinions and places.
Let's hang out, drink coffee/tea/beer and talk about the world.
Interests
I like to take photographs and write, two very different ways of capturing the moments of the world. For me the first starts with a picture and ends with an emotion, whilst the other begins with the emotion, and finishes with a mental image.
I like to make music and I play the drums. Maybe I'll sing if I drink enough beer.
Football is the greatest game on earth. It goes against every one of my ethical principles, but boy do I love to see those overpaid fools kick a ball around. I also love to play, with a questionable level of skill.
History, anthropology, politics and philosophy. Let's talk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On one occasion, whilst travelling in Peru, I played a casual game of football with some local guys outside a small village school in the Peruvian Amazon. A classic encounter between the footballing heavyweights of South America and Europe, the footballing reputation of our respective continents at stake as we engaged in battle. We talked tactics and positions as they lounged lazily and smoked heavy black jungle tobacco in comical contrast to our strategizing. As the teams faced up we glanced sneeringly at their mix of unsuitable footwear; sandals, rainboots, or nothing at all, as our finely stitched trainers shone in the rainforest sun. Our destiny was written, we were ready for glory. The game started and was over in minutes as the vast difference in our skill became clear. They scored 5 times in as many minutes as we lay dripping in sweat, begging for mercy as our conquerors laughed at our incompetency. That was the last time I played football in South America.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn anything and everything and in return I'll teach you how not to play most sports and any other useless skill you might need; card games, bird noises, or a substantial knowledge of Lord of the Rings.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good conversation and an enjoyable time. Let's share experiences, ideas, knowledge and opinions, and let's have fun.
