About Me

I am a 20 year old university student, live music enthusiast, and I am starting to travel quite a little bit in my free time. A little shy at first, I love learning from everyone around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's probably one of the best ways to travel - you get to meet people who know the places you visit, who are locals, and who will bring you an actual, real experience of the places you travel.

Interests

I have a thing for music, and I travel a lot for concerts. I value personal experience above all else. I absolutely love reading, trying to broaden my horizons, and I am always on the hunt for relax coffee shops.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Millenium series is potentially my favourite books. I loved My Education (Susan Choi), Forgive Me If I've Told You This Before (Karelia Stetz Waters), Essex County (Jeff Lemire), Comment devenir un ange/ Comment devenir un monstre (Jean Barbe).... And I've got a passion for Harry Potter.
My favourite movies include Inception and Interstellar, the Imitation Game, and anything by Xavier Dolan. Except for Tom at the Farm.. That should have remained a play.
In terms of TV Shows, my favourite show right now is probably House of Cards, and I absolutely love Orphan Black and The 100. Parks and Rec is also binge worthy.
My favourite bands include Brand New, Paramore, Chvrches, Les Vulgaires Machins, Cœur de Pirate and Tegan and Sara. There's definitely a lot more than that, but I'll stick to this for now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With the help of an amazing team, through a student organization that I run, I invited and organized a poetry night with Andrea Gibson, free of charge for the students at my school - because their poetry has the power to impact every life it touches.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play piano and guitar, and I sing. I like to paint and experiment with visual arts. I know a little about languages and I can certainly be some help if the subject comes up. I want to make this world a better place for everyone and I try my best to fight power structures such as heteropatriarchy and systemic oppression on a daily basis - I hope that the small waves I make around me will find echo in my friends. I have a long way to go, and I am eager to learn - I thoroughly enjoy any opportunity to discuss any kind of political topic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I definitely want to share positivity and harmony as much as I can. I want to share what little experience of the world that I have, and I am eager to learn about other travelers' realities.
