About Me
Bonjour je m’appelle Laurence! I’m French-Canadian and I currently live in Gatineau (QC) which is across the river of Ottawa, Canada’s capital city.
I am a young professional currently working at the department of Employment, Social development Canada at the Government of Canada. I hold 3 degrees from the university of Ottawa : a Licence in Civil law (LL.L -2016), a honour Bachelor in Social sciences specialized in International development and Globalization (B.Soc.sci -2016) and a Juris Doctor (JD-2017).
I am a very sociable and respectful person. I enjoy any interaction and love being immersed in local culture. I’ve had the opportunity to travel in Central and North America, Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia.
Fun fact: I am a certified advanced PADI open water diver. I dove in Malaysia, Turks and Caicos and in the Bahamas. I was lucky to see a Hammerhead shark!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be honest, I never realized I subscribed in August 2013. It is actually my first time getting acquainted with Couchsurfing (sept. 2018). I am thrilled by the amazing host profiles and great surfers’ reviews! I am looking forward to travel with Couchsurfing and discover city’s, local culture and share stories :) . I will be travelling in Europe in the coming weeks. I hope to find a someone to host my and my amazing friend Danika (who you can see in my pictures at many occasions) in Brussels and Malta.

My favorite artist is Mika, I’ve seen him 3 times in concert. I really like his French song « j’ai pas envie ». I have a pretty diverse Netflix suggestions. From Dexter to Gossip girl, I’m a big Suits fan and eager for the next season of Grace and Frankie and This is Us.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had the opportunity to do a Student exchange at the National University of Singapore for 1 semester in 2015. It was such a great experience! Food was amazing, as such the numerous friends a made across de globe and travel memories in Southeast Asia
