ABOUT ME
If I could choose what I wanted to do for the rest of my life without worrying about money, I would happily be the perpetual resident of a college. I thrive off of community and diversity, and I have never felt more at home than I did while pursuing my degree. Now I am in search of a place in society that I feel defines me as well as the term "student".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have no house, and therefore no couch yet (key word = "yet"). I'm a recent graduate, remember? So, naturally, I plan to live in a cardboard box until I find a job somewhere.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have yet to use couchsurfing, but I will (in June and July) be couchsurfing accross the US on a month long roadtrip with a friend. Can't wait for the wild times and the all amazing people.
UPDATE: I am currently on a roadtrip across the USA, and Couchsurfing has been our main source of lodging. I've met some seriously amazing hosts and fellow surfers, and I can't wait to meet more. :-)
Interests
My various hobbies include ridiculous amounts of youtube (guilty pleasure), dabbling in several types of art, and the most longlived and important hobby of my life, horses and all that they include. I am the proud owner of an arabian gelding, and I've had him since I was 16. He has been with me through my college career, and I hope will be with me long after. Although I no longer show, I am madly in love with any equestrian.
As well as horses, I am a huge animal lover, and I regularly stop strangers on the street to pet their dog.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a huge movie fan, and I will readily discuss movies as long as anyone desires. I have a very wide range of tastes, demonstrated by my rather bizarre and eclectic DVD collection. Some favorites include American Beauty, Italian Job, Iron Man, Never Let me Go, and Magnolia. As much as blockbusters are often lacking in plot and meaning, I love to see big explosions and awesome chase scenes on a big screen. At the same time, I appreciate the understated nature of Indie films.
I'm a huge fan of soundtracks of all sorts. The more percussion the better. A quick look at my trusty iPod will give you an idea of the vast range I listen to. Currently, some favorites include The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, William Fitzsimmons, and the Avett Brothers. Of course, I discover new favorites nearly every day.
As for books, I wish I read more, but I highly recommend a book I just read called Never Let Me Go. Anything character driven, allegorical, and thought provoking usually tops my list.
I ALWAYS welcome suggestions from others! :-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to Paraguay to see the amazing waterfalls there and participate on a missions trip, but the most life changing experience I found there was finding myself in the back of a van with a spanish speaking family trying desperately to communicate with my very broken spanish. The fact that I had to use my most basic forms of communication created a sense of connection that I have yet to experience since.
Also, if you meet me someday, ask me to tell you the story of how I was kicked out of Brazil. Don't worry, I'm not a criminal, it was just a little hiccup during a missions trip.
