About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have experiences, write my experiences, share my experiences, absorb some of the wonderful things the world has to offer, and create stories both real and fictional.

PHILOSOPHY

Respond to kindness with kindness, respond to hatred with kindness, respond to anger with kindness, respond to life with happiness! And music. And art. And literature. And love.
I'm happiest when I'm not looking for things that will make me happy, but look instead to make happiness for myself and others. Experience is precious, and people even more so.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Movie/game soundtracks, traditional and classical music (I play harp), musical theater, pop and rock etc.

Movies: Fantasy and literature-based, action-adventure, children's animated, and "proper" romance (Peter Pan, Lord of the Rings, different versions of Les Miserables, Count of Monte Cristo, Bridge to Terebithia, JANE AUSTEN, Ever After, The Secret of Kells, Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast, Disney's Beauty and the Beast,).

Books: British and French literature pre-1900 (Jane Austen, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, J. M. Barrie),
history and culture, current/historical nonfiction about the Middle East, mythology and folk tales, philosophy, fantasy / science fiction (often YA), and of course my religious texts. I love to compare different translations of classic literature, as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote a 50k word novel (very rough draft) in 30 days as part of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know little bits about a lot of things, mostly in the realm of history, crafting, pop culture, and nerd culture. I have a wealth of useless knowledge about my favorite books and series.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to talk and share experiences, and love to learn things. I have a pleasant and empathetic demeanor.
