About Me

Hello! I am a graduate musicology student from Canada. I spend most of my time enjoying and making music in Montreal, a very inspiring and diverse city. I have therefore acquired a good experience of composing, playing and recording music as well as booking, performing and attending concerts. My main interests are arts, music, culture and history, although I love to learn about what I know less.

My experiences abroad include trekking and travelling in Nepal and studying in Indonesia (for a duration of 12 months). Those experiences have had a strong impact on me and energized my passion for travelling. I love to have meaningful 'off the beaten track' experiences that are not your regular tourist itinerary.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While travelling, staying at people's home is always a more rewarding experience than staying at a hotel or other paid accomodations. My purpose in travelling is to meet new people with interesting profiles and experiences and to expand my knowledge of the places I visit.

One day, I wish to become a couchsurfing host for people visiting Montreal. Right now, I travel or move too often to be able to do that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Interesting movies (often independant or semi-independant films) with an edge beyond pure entertainment.

Music: I listen with an open mind, but current interests are in experimental music, electronic art music, extreme metal, avant-garde jazz and non-western musics (For example: Indian Hindustani music, balinese and javanese gamelan, bulgarian choir, Tuvan throat singing, etc.)

Books: Too many for the time I actually take to read

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking in the mountains of Nepal

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a strong knowledge in music theory, rythms and percussions (drum kit, didgeridoo, gamelan, afro-cuban), experimental vocal techniques (death metal vocals, throat singing, etc.). I have a growing interest in sustainable consumption and ways to limit my ecological footprint. Also have a growing knowledge of Southeast Asian history and culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am seeking unique encounters with interesting people. I assume my hosts will be individuals with a unique story and I think I can also share this quality.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Taiwan, United States
