About Me

Hey there.

First, I always feel a bit awkward describing myself, but I'll give it a try. I'm a Belgian musician (with a dayjob. music feeds the soul but doesn't pay the bills...), touring abroad when the opportunity comes.

Travelling, discovering new places, meeting people and having a good chat while trying the local beverages and food is by far one of the best things in life. And music is the perfect excuse to fulfill that whim. ;-)

On a personal level, I'm a bit shy at first, but once the ice is broken, I love a good conversation, especially about subjects on which I have something to learn. I am said to have a good sense of humor, to be kind and a very good listener.

I don't really know what else to say right now, but feel free to ask any questions (yes, even that one ;-) )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After a gig away from home, I need a place where I can sleep and store my gear safely (a couple of guitars, one amplifier and a case full of cables, mics and other accessories).

If you feel like, a private recital is always an option. Just sayin' ;-)

I may consider hosting in a not too distant future, but my house needs some improvements first.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Well, too many to count. I was born in 1971, so indie rock from the 80s and 90s remain my base camp, but there are so many brilliant artists in all genres, it would be impossible to mention them all. Some highlights: Patti Smith, The Smiths, Leonard Cohen, Suzanne Vega, Echo and the Bunnymen, Dead Kennedys, 16 Horsepower, Johnny Cash, Kate Bush, The Doors, Ani DiFranco, Bowie, Eels, The Kills, Stevie Wonder. My most recent personal hype: Tash Sultana

Movies: Monty Python's life of Brian is my all-time favourite. I love movies, but once again, there are so many I think deserve to be listed I will not even try.

Books: John Irving stands out of the crowd, sure. All of his books I found amazing. And again, many books, so little space...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

May sound patronizing, but I find the amazing in the ordinary.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music, you don't have to ask twice for me to take my guitar out. In fact, you may have to hit me on the head or throw a bucket of cold water at me to stop me... ;-)

I'm a more than decent cook. Quiches are my signature recipe.

I love to listen to people's stories. I have a few of my own.

I am also a champion of dad jokes (maybe I should have kept that one to myself...)
