About Me

Wanna see the inside of my eye ? here is a medical scan I put in 3d http://laurent.sexy/blog/eyescan/ !

I do tons of stupid things : I programmed an anti-matter Santa-Claus game that is explained with Feynman diagrams, I write down my weird dreams and put them here http://laurent.sexy/dreams/?cs, I decided to go to Berlin with some friends within 2 hours, I made a strange abstract film with a friend (here is a cartoonish portrait of him http://laurent.sexy/drawing/pierre.png) in one night (music included) using very unprofessional hardware (http://laurent.sexy/video/SHS720p.mp4), I participate to 48hourfilm, I go to the library to listen to random CDs of unknown composers, I'm in theatrical improv teams, I hit buttons on pretty much anything that has buttons such as pianos, keyboards, synthesizer, that big round thing glowing red that says "do not touch", seabords, harpsichords and.... did I mention that I like music ? I also tend to draw anyth... oh look a Scherer organ that happened during a short Bach recital : http://laurent.sexy/drawing/orgue.png !, I went from Leipzig to Hamburg by bicycle using a compass and the sun because why not, hey look a pirate boat : http://laurent.sexy/drawing/bateau.png ! I also defend free software and look at this poster http://laurent.sexy/drawing/geekerie_2014.png , I like cooking, I make robots and programs that are even more dysfunctional than their creator.

Very boring thing : if you contact me, please make up a definition of the word "hieropaddler" and put it somewhere in your message so that I know you read something of this profile ! This is optional though.

What else can I tell more about me... my hard drive is a real mess... I have way too much photos.

A friend of mine suggested to write down the 3 things I learnt everyday.

Everyone think I am crazy. Maybe they are right.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason I'm on this is probably the most regular normal average story in the universe. It was 1 o'clock in the morning, I was in a train going back home and there was randomly in that same train a friend who asked me if I wanted to go to Berlin with him for new year's eve next week. I wasn't sure what to do, we went to his house to drink tea, struggling, hesitating for a huge amount of seconds. We booked a train to get back home from Berlin on January the 2nd... this decision was taken within 2 hours. So we had no way to go to Berlin, nowhere to stay and yet we were very happy about what we did. We thought of hitchhiking, but it was snowing crazy : we bought a weekend train pass and got stuck in Leipzig. Somehow we got to Berlin and stopped at a very nice Berliner's apartment right in the middle of the city !

I also have lodged some Hungarian people before couchsurf and it was a nice !

Interests

Paying attention on that detail nobody saw is a thing I was told I was doing.

Getting in a random shop and find the weird food.

I like to compare things... I once bought all the honey in a shop. There was one that was really good, I later went back and found out that it was the most expensive one...

I like to go to music or animation festivals. The Annecy animation festival is always happening during the academic exam session... That's so bad...

Music, Movies, and Books

The best composer I know is Ravel. pantum in the trio he wrote is one of the best thing he wrote I think... there also is his violin-cello duet, or the very strange "l'enfant et les sortilèges" and almost anything from his piano work...

I lately got obsessed with L'étoile by De Chabrier.

There is that incredible CD called "MISA DE INDIOS" that mixes modern music with baroque instruments.

Microtonal music can sound great : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRw9fCQIn6Q

procedurally generated music is fun : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxDiRqay0z0

"Coraline" is the best stop motion movie I know.
"eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" handle the dream in a very accurate way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I accidentally made some groups create a cult abound me... this happened twice with unrelated people.

I made an incredible effort to make this page short !

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little bit of physics, music, drawing, programming, animation among other things. I can share that...

I might have weird food if I find some.
