Overview
About Me
Hiking enthusiast, avid learner and a bit of an addict to adventure (I have my own definition of the term). Outdoor sports (hiking, climbing, watersports and more generally camping), adventure, philosophy, craft beers, scotch, philosophy while drinking beer & scotch, and social gatherings are my jam. I worked 1.5 years at an Outdoors retailer so I'm quite knowledgeable in that area, even thought there's always more to learn.
I'm a literary and media scholar at University of Montreal. Just finished my master's thesis on immersion, world building, Tolkien and pop culture (comics, Star Wars, et al.). And now I'm off to a RTW trip that I've been dreaming about for well-over a decade. Starting in Budapest, I'll then be heading East, slowly making my way to Asia through the Silk Road.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It is vital to me to meet locals where I travel. I figured CS would be a great way to experience culture, food and urban space without the "tourist filter", as well as meeting new people, learning about their hobbies and travel experiences. Also helps with learning new languages (currently working on my german, thought I haven't practiced much lately).
On a socioeconomical level, I also believe in collaborative communities, so there's that.
Interests
I just started doing some yoga after a streak of injuries. Still a complete noob thought.
