I recently graduated from my undergraduate studies in Minnesota and this Fall I'm starting my graduate studies in Public Affairs at University of Wisconsin - Madison. My friends describe me as social and kind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like most people on this site, I'm interested in travelling and languages. I don't mind travelling alone but it's nice to have company when going out for dinners and drinks in the evening. I'm always interested in meeting new people and it's amazing how much you learn when meeting people from different countries.

Currently, I'm trying to improve my Swedish language skills and I'm planning to travel to Sweden for a couple of weeks at the end of this summer. I'm hoping to make friends there and get practice for my Swedish skills!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of music but lately I've been listening mostly Finnish pop-rock (Olavi Uusivirta is my favorite), French chansons and Swedish music in general. When I'm out I like to listen to more intense music such as EDM and American rap.

I like to watch comedies and sitcoms. I don't really like intense TV such as thrillers or murder dramas. Although the new Swedish Netflix show Quicksand was amazing.

I have almost only been reading books related to my university studies for the past four years or so. School makes me read so much I don't really feel like reading books for leisure right now. I used to like it before I started studying, perhaps I'll start reading more after graduating.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to America from Finland. It has been a life changing experience for me and I feel that I've learned so much about the world after changing continents for a couple of years.

I'm happy to share things I know with others. I can help others learn languages I know and I'm trying to learn languages through this site as well. I studied political science and economics so I might be able to tutor in it. I certainly love to discuss it!
