About Me

ABOUT ME

Musiclover, metalhead & It-professional who likes to babble in English. Studied a year in Scotland which left me even more interested in meeting people with different cultural backgrounds. I have an odd knack for small details in everything, be it in humour or musical sections. I've come to realize that not everyone loves a nitpicker so I can limit it haha!

PHILOSOPHY

"Nothing is as limited as to have an ideal". Is it my philosophy? I don't think so, but i like to think of it as a good outline.

Another main thought is that when you stop getting excited about things and learning that's when you really start becoming a bitter old man.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I recently moved to a bigger flat and once I get it ready I will start hosting a bit :)!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed quite a few times and it's been great :).

Interests

Watching sports (especially ice hockey), listening music, humour, blogging about music, bit of composing too. One can't forget computer gaming (Rocket League) and reading books either. I also play casual floorball( its a sport) as a goalie to get some exercise. And yes, I do like to have and meet friends (old and new).

I enjoy a bit of beer, whiskey or your random local alcoholic beverage and discussion on the side.

One of the most fascinating thing to do in a new country is to visit the grocery store!

Music, Movies, and Books

George R.R. Martin is very likely my favourite author. Less known classic novels have lately been on my menu as I happen to live next to a very nice bookstore!

Then about music... Tons of different genres & bands generally of the odd side. For example Agalloch, Sol Invictus, Tenhi, Absoluuttinen Nollapiste, Yup, Venetian Snares, Carcass, Skyclad, Mogwai...

I do enjoy movies too but my main interests are in written and sound forms. I think my favourite movie would be The Wicker Man (1973) & The Holy Mountain and Series Monty Python & Futurama. I am quite a big Monty Python fan to be honest. I really enjoy absurdism in other forms too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked upstairs to a pub in Shetland's Capital Lerwick and it was just like walking to the movie "The Wicker Man". Very cosy country feeling, people playing music, drinking & exchanging instruments.

Also arriving to the "end of britain" in Shetlands was a memorable experience. Seeing the whole coast of majestic cliffs rising from the sea, completely void of human life signs. Seabirds playing, puffins flying near and posing. It was pretty magical.

Nighttrain from Gdansk to Wroclav in 2nd class with two friendly Polish soldiers who barely speak English was eye opening. Among other things, to the brilliance of Polish vodka (even though it wasn't me who was drinking it!).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can fix your computer :). Also i just learned how to arrange 4 coins in a line with just 4 moves while after every move a coin has to touch 2 other coins :D! It is very important, I know. Maybe basic footbag kicks as well! I often carry one with me just in case.
