About Me

I'm a mid-20s, London-living bloke who works within financial journalism at time of writing. My passion in life is music - writing about it and making it - and most of what I do is in the name of that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here largely to find a place to crash towards the end of March in New York City, and in return to offer up our new (and very unglamarous) sofa-bed in East London for anyone who might want to use it.

Interests

Music - listening to all and everything, playing viola, sax, piano and a few weird ones, and pursuing the weirdest little bands to interview.

Videogames - if you wanna throw down, I'm there. If you want to compare experiences of playing Ocarina of Time, I'm there. If you need help with your Farmville plots, I'm not.

Football (Soccer, if you're so inclined) - a Leyton Orient season ticket holder and a Tottenham Hotspur fan for as long as I can remember.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Radiohead, Sigur Ros, The National, Sharon Van Etten, Bjork, Leonard Cohen, Four Tet, and a butt-load more.

Movies - Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Momento, The Prestige, Back to the Future, Akira.

Books - Cormac McCarthy, Raymond Carver, Margaret Atwood, Philip Larkin, Alex Ross

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled around South America for a few months with just a backpack and a sunny disposition. Met some amazing friends, saw some incredible things, and only almost died a few times. It also completely sated my spirit for adventure, and now I'm very happy staying in London.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to learn a musical instrument, I'm not a great teacher but I'm very enthusiastic. Jamming's more my style.

Otherwise, I'm always keen to chinwag about music, books or politics, and I can cook pretty well - can always rustle up a convincing dish of pasta with a few ingredients.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Above qualities and at least a few drinks out on town. As a Brit, it's in my blood.
