I'm a concept artist working in the video games industry. But when I can (normally a few months out of each year) I go hitchhiking and wandering aimlessly about in countries I've yet to visit.
I find that hitchhiking allows me to experience a country in the most personal and unfiltered manner- seeing a place through its people, going about their daily lives. Being able to be a part of that is a huge privilege and its allowed me to meet a LOT of interesting individuals over the years. It has its dangers, but i truly feel the reward outweighs the risk, and I hope one day to write about my years on the road.

I'm extremely grateful for the opportunities that couchsurfing has been able to give me and the amazing experiences I've had around the world due to the friendly and welcoming locals who are able to take the time to share their space and lives. It's always been an enriching way for me to learn about the places I visit and I hope to return the favour the very moment I'm able to back in the UK!
