HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Am not really participating as a surfer at the moment......though I'm checking into a bit of land surfing in Hawaii. Would just be another added bonus to my escape from the MN cold. We already have time share & camp on Kauai, would be great to have some new friends to stay with on occasion or even just to do fun stuff with while we're there for a month or so. As for hosting? I totally would, I just haven't quite got things situated enough to accommodate. But hit me up if you'd like & we'll see.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Memorable.........loved it, totally recommend to everyone, it's so much more than a vacation. for me? It' was a life changing perspective.

Interests

anything to do with being green, respecting others & this very strong planet that will survive long after humanity self destructs. I prefer the road less travelled as opposed to the norm. Not much of a night life person, prefer daytime, when I can see what this world has to offer. Taking a journey, perhaps starting a blog? I've always been interested in writing a book. Too many ideas to tell here. Suffice to say, no lulls in getting to know anyone.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer mellow music, singer songwriter type stuff. David Gray, Damien Rice, Jack Johnson, Citizen cope, Michael Franti, Dave Mathews, ........though i'm open to pretty much anything with a melody. As far as books & movies, generally, make me laugh or scare me, those are my favorite types of both.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That's easy, what I've done? Raised an awesome young woman, my daughter, she's 31 now. She's in the Peace corp in the Ukraine. I went to visit her the summer of 2013, I spent 2 weeks of my long 10 week adventure through Europe marveling at her ability to adapt to her VERY foreign surroundings. She indeed makes me most proud & happy!! :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I try to eat mostly whole & natural foods. Doesn't mean I don't indulge, but if I can't pronounce it, I try not to eat it. I have no problem sharing my healthy cooking ability. That sort of covers teaching & sharing, yes? Lastly, I want to learn about my hosts city, somethings only a local would know. I'm big on farmers markets & anything thats locally made.
