Hey, I'm Laurin, German guy currently studying film studies and comparative literature at the University of Mainz.

I'm a big music and film nerdie, obsessed with art in general and love to get insights into different cultures through it.

Nowadays music festivals are my favorite excuse to travel and meet like-minded people. I've made the most of 2022 and spent almost more time travelling around for gigs than at home.

Music, Movies, and Books

There's a lot I enjoy... I listen to tons of music, particularly hip-hop and all kinds of experimental music, and watch a lot of films ^^ often non-English/German films, I love getting some insight into different cultures this way. I read way less than I would like to, partly because of music and film distracting me, but I do love literature (fiction and theory/philosophy) as well.

Over the past years I've become more and more interested in the intertwining of politics/systemic issues and aesthetics. I try to apply a critical lens on eurocentricism, misogyny, racism, etc to whatever I consume and become more conscious of learned biases.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2017 I was travelling Australia and Japan on my own for 6 months. That was one of the best things I've ever done and I consider that one of the most formative experiences I've had :))
