About Me

I am Lauro, originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil. I have lived in a few countries over the last six years of my life, including India, France, and Germany. The contact with other people and cultures has allowed me to grow as a person towards a more understanding and open mindset, and I don't want this process to stop :) It's a very good feeling that I'm pretty sure everyone here shares, and this is why I am also open to guests at my place as means of continuing this discovery process even when I can't travel myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To give people a place to stay for the weekend and to see reality from the eyes of others.

Interests

Music, yes, for sure, but I also love reading and exercising. Actually, I love learning new stuff, so I'm always on wikipedia, books, courses, etc. etc. etc. My main interests are sociology, history, philosophy, psychology, languages and, well, maybe I just like everything :P

Music, Movies, and Books

Bon Iver and Milo Greene provide a calm and stimulating atmosphere, as well as piano and classic guitar.

I don't watch many movies, so I can't really give a favorite.

Books, well, "Maybe you should talk to someone" really helped me during some tough moments in life, and "When Nietzsche wept" has opened my eyes to many aspects of reality one hidden from me. "The Schopenhauer Cure" is also a nice title, as is "Sapiens".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in India for eight months, visited Poland during one month, lived in Germany for two years and now moving to Bordeaux for a one year Erasmus internship.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not much to teach, I have to admit... But definitely a lot to learn!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Enthusiasm, I guess :) The beauty of living a good life and the happiness of enjoying each moment. I guess I can share lots of friendship and care for everyone, although I am not the talkative type :)

Countries I’ve Visited
