About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Having a mission sounds very big, and I don't think I have one yet, but I do have a plan. To go to Kenya for 6 months next year and volunteer in an orphanage there, with Global Volunteer Networks.

ABOUT ME

I'm very, very excited because I just finished high school and have loads of excellent dreams of what I can accomplish. I've been involved for three years with this theatre group, called SkitZ, which focuses on youth sexual health education. We do forum theatre, so characters ask the audience what they should do next in the show. I don't have a driver's licence, because I know I would abuse that priviledge and never walk anywhere again. So I have my bike instead, and I'm very glad that it is summer again, and there is no snow on the roads, so I can go anywhere!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not done any international couch surfing, but I have had tons of impromptu couch-crashing-for-the-night experiences, usually after very interesting nights!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any kind of music, and will dance to whatever is playing. I have just started reading Zen And the Art of Motorcycle Maintenence, which is a very interesting, makes you think, kind of philosophic book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the most amazing things I have seen is when the little boy I babysit was one and a half, and he was pulling things out of my purse. He found a piece of plastic, and squished it against my arm, so that he could see my arm under it, and was just so mesmirized by the new thing he was seeing, the new way of looking at my arm. And I think it's important to sometimes try and appreciate new experiences as young kids do, by being totally absorbed and amazed by them.

Teach, Learn, Share

The only thing I can cook is scrambled eggs, but I can teach anyone who is interested how to knit, or bead leather, and although I do not get much practice, I'd love to jam with other musicians on a violin.
