I'm Lav from India, Varanasi is close to my heart. I'm simple, compassionate and a human being. I always try to know, learn and outshine about other people and cultures and i offer help to others as possible as I can. I love traveling but in present I'm busy with my study.

I am post graduate (English Literature) student of the University of Allahabad. It's my fourth semester after that I've goal for PhD. I live in Allahabad, before that I had been living in Varanasi. For me, to know any country and culture; language is the key so I'm looking for someone who want to talk about culture, philosophy, literature, history, food, people, life-style meditation and values. I'd love to meet new people all over the world.

The best thing is that if one finds the opportunity then one must do something to make this world better; a lot of happenings is going on all over the world for what progress, position and power but apart from that one must also think and pay attention about the world's common mass, compassion and charity to save the world from catastrophe, clash and complexity so help by collaboration, harmony and peace in ideas, philosophy, and doings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my childhood I wanted to see, to know about the culture of the world. But now i think it'll not be possible to travel around the world. It's possible because of CS to get travel experience without paying heavy charges of hotels and restaurants and one can save lot of money. And it's a wonderful idea to connect with the locals or moreover real people of any country of the world and it's a great way to become friend with people. CS made it easy for a common mass to travel all over the world and to come to know about various cultures through travel experience. My key wish is to learn their languages.

I need help of English speakers who can help me to improve my speaking skills. So it's a right platform to connect with right people for language learning & exchange.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- Indian Classical, light and fusion, Blues, Jazz and Pop.

Books- Classics, Modern, Contemporary, and literature; I read lot of literature and still reading and gaining experiences of a particular master piece of a country.

Films- Period Drama, Biopic, Sci-fi, Hollywood and other countries. Actually I watched a lot of Hollywood films. So I'm not writing here because it's a huge list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done one amazing thing in my life is that to know one's own potential.

Sit for meditation and that's the time for observation of breathing and thoughts that helps to come to near to The Real Nature.

When I was working on books I worked a lot maybe more than 20 hours so then I realized that sometimes we don't believe in our potential. I know that all power is within me or you I or you can do anything and everything believe in that don't believe that I'm or you're weak. And it's true for all human race.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about language and culture and share my experience and I'll get the opportunity to come to know about other country, culture and languages that is the best learning.

I'm closely associated with the Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi a branch centre of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Belur, Howrah, West Bengal. Varanasi centre is the place where I learnt and gained life experience like human values, behavior, yoga, meditation, soft skills, religion and philosophy and many more things.

I edited and, did proofreading and few translation of three books on Swami Vivekananda's teachings with the help my Guru apart from this I made some reports in interfaith dialogue, yoga and meditation. I visited with a lot of students as a team leader in various part of India. I helped to organize seminars and workshops. And at last but not the least I taught some underprivileged children of adjacent districts of Varanasi for three years. So there are a lot of life experience and Indian stories I can share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can guide you about Indian culture, languages, people and food. I can spend my time with you and can share experience of my life. I can offer you special local food and I'd love to walk with you to visit side scenes. I can make arrangement to visit the Indian villages.

And one more thing I can teach you mediation an actual method because in present scenario a thought is moving all over the world is that 'Yog' has become 'Yogaa' but it's not like that because 'Yog' is classical and 'Yogaa' is just a pop version in the West. And there are various methods for meditation according to Indian philosophy and spiritual traditions.
So I'm trained in one tradition of meditation. I'd love to teach you.
