ABOUT ME

My name is Chantal. I am 20 years old and am a student at the University of Regina. I am fluent in both French and English, but I also have a base in German and Spanish. I work at two jobs currently to make enough money for my travels. I work as a waitress in a lounge and I also work for Heritage Canada to promote bilinguism. I am very interested in soccer, track, badminton, volleyball, longboarding, and pretty much any sport outside. I love listening to all kinds of music and love to hang out with my friends. I enjoy going for walks outside, rain or shine, and I also love to run.

My name is Mario, I am 23 years old. I work for the government. I play soccer a lot, i am a goal keeper. I like to play badminton and volleyball as well, but I don't like to run. I like being outdoors with friends and i love to read. I love fantasy books as well as adventure. I am pretty easy going and like to have fun. I enjoy listening to music and playing video games on the computer. I am fluent in French and English and have a base in Spanish. My sister has the base in German.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is our first time. We heard about Couch Surfing through a friend who had a great experience. I would like to try it out and eventually when I have my own place, be able to have people stay at my house.

Interests

Chantal: I love soccer, volleyball, badminton, etc. I love pretty much any sport, being outside, visiting new places, going out with friends, listening to music, going for walks/runs. I am a very easy going person and I just like to have fun.

Mario: I also love sports. I would love to see a few soccer games while over in Europe. I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, but i enjoy being indoors just as much. I really enjoy listening to music, going to concerts and meeting new people. I am always shy at first, but I can be talkative once you get to know me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Chantal: Movies, i love action movies and war movies. I really enjoy Disney and Pixar movies as well. I enjoy pretty much any kind of movie but I'm not a fan of horror. I find them to be dull and predictable. Music, some of my favourite bands would be Anberlin, Rise Against, HIM, Oomph!, Greeley Estates, Garou, etc. Books, I don't usually read much, but some of my favourites would be Harry Potter, Twilight, anything my Christopher Moore, Alias Grace...

Mario: I usually watch action or comedy. I like medieval stuff as well such as Rome and war series like Band of Brothers. I usually like a little heavier music. I like the band Rise Against as well, but I like bands like Ramstein, Oomph, Flaggin Molleys, System of a Down, Dragon Force, etc. I like fantasy books. One of my favourite authors is R.E. Salvatore. I read a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been to Spain and France which were both beautiful, I have participated in many french events through-out Canada for soccer as well as track.

Mario has participated in many french events for badminton as well as soccer. He has been to France and England and loved his experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

We want to learn about new places, environment, food, culture, everything! We've lived in Canada our whole lives and we want to experience everything about the new countries that we will see on our trip.
