Hey! I'm Lavinia - was born and bred in Malaysia, lived in Qatar for a few years during high school, and finally moved to Australia for university (and haven't left since).

I'm a software engineer by trade, but have too many interests outside of work to ever become a master at it, I'm afraid!

I spend my evenings attending random events around Canberra that interest me (if you say "there's nothing to do in Canberra" - boy, will I prove you wrong...), catching up on the best and the worst Netflix shows, cooking when I can muster the time and energy, and doing whatever fitness/sport activities I'm into at the moment.

I always make time for my close friends, and don't understand it when others can't seem to do the same. I've been told I'm kind and generous, and most recently, that I "look like a nurse" lol. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not! I love sharing things with people, whether that's my life, my home, my time, a listening ear, or advice when needed. I genuinely want the best for people and always try and help whenever I can.

I'm looking to meet some interesting, genuine people across the world or simply down the road with a passion for whatever it is they do. :)

I joined CouchSurfing some time ago when I was doing some travelling by myself - I recently logged on again after years away, and remembered why this website was so amazing in the first place!

The number of people on here who are both offering and looking for genuine connection is astounding! I love the honesty and love for learning, sharing, and travelling that seem to be common values of a lot of people on here. :)
