ABOUT ME

I am someone who is courteous, kind, and outgoing. I enjoy meeting new people and trying new things. I am always optimistic, and view things from a positive perspective. I am also very respectful, and strive to make others feel as comfortable as possible and foster an enjoyable coach surfing experience, whether as a host or a guest.

PHILOSOPHY

At 21, I am still working on a personal philosophy. I will say that the most important thing in my life is my relationship with others. As long as you have people you love and who love you, as long as you have friends to support and who support you, and as long as you can surround yourself with people you enjoy, that's a pretty admirable goal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I learned about couch surfing fairly recently. I was travelling in Turkey and staying at a hostel, where I met 2 girls who had been couch surfing throughout their 4 month European tour. They invited me to a Couchsurfing meetup in Istanbul, where we met a lot of other folks who are involved in the community. That night, one of the participants we met at the event offered his couch to me and the 2 girls, and thus began my foray into couch surfing. Our stay with him was tremendous, and he demonstrated what it meant to be a good host. He was very respectful of our wishes, extremely hospitable, and fun to hang out with as well. I see Couchsurfing as a great way to develop meaningful relationships, and I want to continue that experience both as a host as well as a guest in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I learned about couch surfing pretty recently, from these 2 girls that I met while travelling in Turkey. They showed me the ropes, took me to a Couchsurfing meetup, and even found a host for the 3 of us for a few nights. I was blown away by the community, the passion for the organization, and the entire experience, and would love to get more involved both as a host and a guest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on a 5 day hike along the Incan Trail to Machu Picchu was the most amazing experience of my life. The combination of physical challenge, of beautiful scenery, and of the camaraderie of my fellow hikers, guides, and porters was really quite special.
