About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make life a box office hit where I’m more than just supporting cast; the script is packed full of romance, life-long friends, family, adventure, compassion and humor; filmed in a tropical paradise; and backed up by a killer soundtrack

ABOUT ME

Present
low carbing to squeeze into a real wedding dress, watching the cat pretend to hate the dog, wedding planning, movie screenings on the Paramount lot, turning the corner and finding Optimus Prime, guitar lessons, taking on the Baldwin Hills Steps, watching bad TV on ABC Family...all in all living, loving, and getting married in the heart of screenland.

2009-mid 2011
Deep frying, living on Tara Plantation, biking to work, movie screenings on the Sony lot, being the only "white" person in the restaurant, screaming through the entire game of Resident Evil 4, hanging with Tommy Wiseau (oh hai, mahrk!), walking past the dryer with Spider Man's suit locked in, hearing a coworker call Justin Timberlake a "douche bag" to his face, chasing down the Kogi truck...all in all living, loving, and being an adult in the heart of screenland.

July 11, 2007 - July 14, 2008
Kimchi, Gongdeok-Dong, no soap in the bathroom, Seoul Station, butchering the Korean language, Itaewon, Kyohaksa, Han River, visa trips, washers and no dryers, Galbi, chopsticks, seperating trash, taking your shoes off at the door, Soju, high rise views, instant coffee, cell phone mania, Alien Registration Card, sweet pickles with pizza, unrefrigerated squid, bootleg movies for 2 bucks, Annyong haseyo, teaching kids to ask for a ruler, the purple and yellow line, listening to the military radio station, 7 gram, Skype, Lotte Mart, reserved theater seats, Twoowt chicken, international phone cards, heated floors and toilet seats, cheap cab rides, milk bread, getting excited about Captain Morgan, expensive towels, walking, more walking, no personal space, Won.......All in all living, missing my love, working, and having fun in the Soul of Asia.

Before July 11, 2007
Palm trees, In & Out, Hollywood and Highland, Sunset Strip, the 101, Rosco's Chicken and Waffles, having lunch across from Reese Witherspoon, crying when you get a good parking spot, getting pierced on Melrose, your friend's aunt's boyfriend's mom's dog walker knows how to get you a record deal, trips to Vegas with money enough for a couple drinks and playing the penny slots, accidentally going to Mickey's with a group of girls, living in a studio apartment for $625, paying over $3.00 for gas, thinking that 10 miles is too far to drive (because it takes an hour), watching Scarface through the window of the pimped out ride in front of you in traffic, laying out in December, trips to Mexico with money for a couple drinks and some prescription drugs, working for a "Jew boss" (no, I'm not awful...that's what he calls himself!) who asks you how to spell Hawaii, seeing the smiling faces of the kids you help at the shelter and hugging them until they can't move, riding the bull at Saddle Ranch (or at least watching everyone else and laughing), having one of your clients ask that you not lick the envelope so the can reuse it (even when they make $30,000 a show ), going to Mt. Pina to rediscover the stars you haven't seen in a year, watching your trashed friend ask Paulie Shore for a hug.... All in all living, loving, working, having fun and being broke in the city of angels.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be someone who loves and is loved by many. I want my closing credits to go on for hours listing all the people who have played a role in my life and are happy to have. To accomplish that, I must be the best wife, friend, daughter, employee, neighbor, etc that I can be. My work will need to be something that I feel improves the lives of others and in turn motivates me to improve my own. The location doesn’t really matter as long as it is mostly warm, has my mother near by and feels like home. Finally, I want to stay young at heart, never forget who I am and who helped make me that way, and be understanding when my kid pukes on the Kmart floor.

Personal Goals:
· Never forget who/what/where I came from and where I’m going.
· Stay up all night talking to a friend whenever it is needed and hopefully it is needed often.
· Never settle but always compromise.
· Love and accept the people around me for who they are and not who I want them to be.
· Always rock.
· Let my kids be kids. Let them enjoy it. Most importantly, join in. (I don't HAVE kids)
· Never turn it down.
· Give to others more than just what I don’t want.
· Be unforgettable

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and tour guiding: I have hosted 10 people in Korea and 6 in Los Angeles. There are pictures of some of them included in the "People I've Hosted" folder.

Surfing: I surfed through Europe - see my comments for more information.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I host: My hosting style is very laid back. My boyfriend and I work so usually I only have evenings and weekends to show people around. I do what I can to help people get around in a city not well known for public transportation.

When I surf:
I treat my host(s) with the utmost respect. Having hosted so many people in such a small space in a relatively short amount of time, I know that hosting isn't always easy. I am very clean and can be involved as little or as much as my host(s) would like. I don't expect to be shown around or taken out with friends, but if that is an option, I would take that offer in an instant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a 10K and didn't die. I helped produce a concert at the Ryman Auditorium. I stood up at Coachella for 11 hours and never used the restroom. I sat in a limo with legandary Lou Rawls and had dinner with Bobby Vinton. I saw the first official Star Wars 6 movie marathon. I moved to South Korea after having never left the United States. I stayed in a Swiss guy's apartment in Paris with a Polish girl I met in Italy with Canadian and Australian friends who all taught English in South Korea. I survived a rogue wave in Hawaii (although my knee paid the price).
