About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Taking advantage of my youth while I have it. Experiencing great things so I can look back fondly in later years to know that I had.
Also coming to terms with angry-resting-face.
ABOUT ME
Born in Jersey, lived in New York City, Atlanta, and Ann Arbor. Couch surfing has been an amazing way to meet people who have a special appreciation of traveling and the fulfillment it can bring.
I met with so much generosity and trust on the road; it changed me for the better.
PHILOSOPHY
You won't always get what you give, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed a bit during my walk across America - which was cut short in southern Alabama. Long story. On the way, I had amazing experiences, many of which I'd love to share with those who appreciate and understand the strange, maybe terrifying, but altogether exhilarating impulse to get out there and see the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed through Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Missouri.
Interests
Literary criticism, cello, history, sharing stories, drinking tea, whiskey, going on adventures, putting cayenne on everything, finding that your interlocutor is really on the same wavelength as you and recognizing the moment when you discover so.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an omnivore. Classical literature, eighteenth century satire, medieval devotional literature, american culture (especially in the nineteenth century), poetry, cerebral films. french new wave, pop songs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked from New Jersey to very nearly Mobile, Alabama. With a cello. Then I went to the University of Michigan and got a PhD.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm really good at talking about literary periods, human nutrition, whiskey and gin, and cello. I'm a better listener than I am a talker. I love hearing about people's stories, the history that led them to the moment I encounter them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll wash your dishes for sure. And if you'd like a decently performed Bach suite, I can do that too.
