I am a very smiley girl from Brazil who simply loves to travel and is passionate about finding more sustainable ways of living, including of course: traveling! Caring for the environment is a big part of who I am, so if you also care about it, the chances that we get along are pretty high. I basically extract pleasure in life from food (including beer and wine), people (I love hugs and I talk a lot) and places (I like everything from big cities, to beaches, to mountains). Therefore it's quite easy for me to get amused when traveling, as I can enjoy culture, history, nature, restaurants and nightlife. And I love music, especially live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has changed the way I travel. Nowadays I don't care so much about sightseeing, as I find much more meaning in meeting locals. Visiting new places through the eyes of people who live there is much better than any travel guide.
Also, I believe in the shared economy. Couchsurfing, shared bikes, car sharing and airbnb (when not evil increasing rents in cities like NYC, Amsterdam and Barcelona) invite people to think private assets in a different way. Instead of each person owning a car, a bike, a summer vacation house; we can share them and have less of those. It's more sustainable than the traditional accumulation of capital.
On the more personal aspect, I like to think that couchsurfers are friends that I haven't met before. If every human being did more favors to "strangers", without expecting anything in return, I think the world would be a better place.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost every type of music, specially Brazilian music. Playing samba is my greatest passion!
I prefer light comedies and romantic movies.
I prefer science-based non-fiction books that allow me to learn something. Can highly recommend anyone to read "Can even: how millennials became the burn-out generation" and anything by Brené Brown (books, podcasts or lectures).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Greenland and considering how remote and non-touristic it is, I'd say that is amazing in itself.
I saw the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in Tromsø, Norway and Abisko, in the Swedish Lappland -- and also from my own street in Helsinki, Finland!
I have scubadived in Galapagos among hammerhead sharks, rays and turtles, and even saw dolphins and pilot whales from the boat.
I did a safari in a rainforest in Nepal on top of an elephant.
I did paragliding in Switzerland and handgliding in Rio.
I play at two samba bands from street carnival in São Paulo and I guarantee there is nothing more fun in the world to do!! And I was lucky enough to find a big and lovely samba community in Europe too!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching about my country and city's history and sightseeings. I also love to learn about them when I'm somewhere new. I love to read maps and figure my way on them, so perhaps we can share ways to get to places by foot or public transportation.

What I Can Share with Hosts
