About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Expand my experiences, to break boundaries, to face my follies, to abolish assumptions, and to practice poetry of the deed everywhere I go.
ABOUT ME
I was something of a Wanderlust Queen, leaving everything behind in the USA and spending most of the last year backpacking around Europe. At the end of that time, I fell in love with Denmark (and my husband, Helge, in particular), so now I've happily grown my roots in Copenhagen.
PHILOSOPHY
1.) For a while I tried to figure out who I was and I felt lost. Then I heard this quote from George Bernard Shaw: "Life is not about finding yourself. It is about creating yourself." Something clicked and I felt free. I realized that I am just a collection of experiences and passion. Each of these encounters shapes me into a slightly different variation of myself--perhaps it's someone more empathetic, more spontaneous, or more confident. So I now try to meet as many people as possible and love as many things as I can. This is the best way to build yourself into a person worthy of love and capable of the greatest level of joy. So get to know me and help shape who I am and I'll be sure to do the same in return.
2.) Time is our most precious resource and everyone is wealthy with it. Don't waste your most valuable asset making a less valuable asset at a job that you don't love. Cars and houses can wait. Live simply and travel frequently.
3.) Vulnerability is the most beautiful of traits. It is the only way to form strong relationships--not only with other people, but also with yourself. Vulnerability is also THE key trait to having a memorable Couchsurfing experience. Let your guest/surfer into your heart and you'll never want to let them out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love people but I sometimes have a hard time forming a strong connection. Everyone is too set in their patterns, too busy with work (myself included up until recently). But then you have Couchsurfers--people who want nothing more than to let you into their lives. Whether you're welcoming someone into your home or your trusting someone to keep you safe in their home, this exchange requires large amounts of vulnerability, thus establishing the basis to a strong friendship faster than almost any other situation possibly could.
Couchsurfing kick starts friendships and as a result I met some of my very favorite people in the world through this site including roommates, soulmates, and soul friends. Every single encounter that I've had with a host or a traveler has left my heart feeling warm--maybe I should talk to a doctor about that condition.
Interests
I love attending concerts (my form of Sabbath), backpacking (my pilgrimages), reading (my scripture), both brewing and drinking delicious bitter beverages (my communion), and generally living life to the fullest (my mantra).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love nearly all live music, groove to folk music of all nationalities, and wish to continue expanding my interests with the help of passionate music consumers and producers alike.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking. Every damn time. If you haven't done it before, just do it. Every person who stops for me strengthens my faith in the goodness of humanity.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My ritual is to cook dinner for my hosts. (If I stay with you for more than one night, I'd also really enjoy learning how to cook one of your local dishes.) If I'm traveling with my computer, then I can share a Couchsurfing playlist to inspire you to take the the road--and GBs of my favorite music. I can also take semi-professional photos of you, because they're so much better than selfies.
And I'm here for you--this means that if you need help with ANYTHING, I'm your girl. I strive to help people. In fact, that's one of my main goals in life. Ask and you shall receive.
