About Me
My name is Léa, I'm 22yo and I come from Toulouse, South of France. I currently live in Nantes, where I moved for my studies.
Last year I worked in an ecology and biology research laboratory; I really enjoy my job and it offers me lots of opportunities to meet inspiring people and to learn about ecology and ecosystems functioning.
Two years ago I made a 1 year trip in South America with a friend : I used to live in Buenos Aires (AR) but I also travelled in Perú, Bolivia, Chile and Uruguay; and I had a lot of fun !
I planned to travel again and to move to Helsinki (FI) from january to may 2019, thanks to the Erasmus program.
I'm crazy about litterature, I cannot stop reading books even when I travel. I also like sport, I'm not bad at boxing and swimming, and I love to walk during hours without going anywhere.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I discovered Couchsurfing while I was traveling in South America. I already knew about it but I did'nt had my own account. I first used Couchsurfing network with a friend of mine, who was used to host and be hosted by Couchsurfers. We travelled together and met a lot of amazing people. I loved this way of travelling and to discover a country or a town by meeting its citizens and let them show you the best of their place.
I think I've found with Couchsurfing the best way to enjoy a trip and to learn about myself by learning about the others and their diferents habits and skills.
Regretfully my home sweet home is to tiny to offer hosting, but one day I will !
Interests
- walking
- dance
- hike
- nature lover
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite writer is Stephen King; I'm trying to read all of his books in French and in English, besides it's a really good way to practice it for me! I prefer novels but I also read books dealing with geography, astrology, everything which can help me understand how the Universe is functioning.
I listen all music styles, and I'm always up to discover a new musical genre or author I don't know yet. I particulary like bachata rythms, jazz and some good rock'n'roll. Talking of rock, one of the movies I like the most is "Good morning England", I'm keen on all those crazy people living in a boat and sharing (ilegaly haha) their dream and their passion with a whole country. I also like Sci-Fi movies and dramas, recently I cried watching "Call me by your name" (and "Mamma Mia 2" ... )
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My amazing things I've done are my travels : I spent 3 nights in a bolivian island in the middle of the Titicaca lake, without any connection to civilisation and tecnology. When I used to traval in South America I made a lot of hikes in the moutains and I spent 4 days in a canyon, sleeping next to a cactus field.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I don't know how to play music and I won't teach you a lot because I consider I ain't good at nothing... but I can try to teach you how to dance bachata, how to speak spanish or boxing !
What I Can Share with Hosts
Traveling with CS give me the chance to meet openminded people, who agree to share a bit of their life with me and to discover mine. I think the best way to learn more about an unknown country or city is to live like their citizens : when I travel I try to live like them, to eat like them, to party like them and to exchange about our habits and life visions.
